The Coalition

The District 1 Regional Medical Response Coalition was formed in response to a Bioterrorism Appropriations Bill signed in to law on January 10, 2002.

The Coalition is organized into a 21-member Planning Board, a 5-member Executive Committee, a fiduciary agent, a 46-member Operations Committee, and 4 workgroups. Additional D1RMRC task forces are formed to meet emerging needs."

The Coalition has three funded staff positions to coordinate planning efforts. Funded staff include:

  • One full-time Regional Coordinator
  • One full-time Assistant Regional Coordinator
  • One part-time Medical Director (40 hours / month )

Mission Statement

As a means to strengthen the overall health system in District 1, the D1RMRC has adopted the following mission: develop and implement a regional response plan that functions within an Incident Command Structure in order to effectively mitigate, respond to, prepare for, and recover from Biological Weapons incidents, pandemics, and other disasters resulting in mass casualties within the region.
